A trademark is a distinctive symbol used to indicate the source of goods and services, thereby differentiating them from others.
This can include names, logos, or any other form of identifying elements.
A trademark eligible for registration should contain at least one of the following characteristics:-
- A name presented in a unique style;
- The signature of the registration applicant;
- Invented word(s)
- A word with no direct relation to the nature or quality of the goods or services;
- A distinctive mark.
- Duration of Protection
- Trademarks are protected for a duration of 10 years and can be renewed indefinitely every 10 years.
